Our Approach

At Kid's Court, you'll find caring, well qualified staff to provide safe and nurturing early learning experiences for your child.

Owners

Kid's Court is a family owned child care center.  In March of 2002, Carol Bell, Nicki Hillard, and Lexxi Shea purchased the center and have turned Kid's Court into the place of learning and fun that it is today! Carol, Nicki, and Lexxi are a big part of the day to day operations of the center. They take pride in visiting with the children, mentoring our teaching staff, and building positive relationships with the families of Kid's Court.

Directors

Our State College Director, Jill Fallon, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from York College of Pennsylvania, and a Director's Credential Certificate from Penn State University.  She also has over 20 years in the Early Childhood Education field.

Our Bellefonte Director, Hayley Campbell, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Lockhaven University, including 27 credits in education. Hayley has worked as a lead teacher in a child care center for 5 years before taking the Director role at our Bellefonte center in 2021. She hopes to continue her education in the early education field and expand her knowledge in child care as time goes on.

Lead Teachers

Each of our five classrooms is staffed with one or more lead teachers, each holding a Bachelor's Degree, Associates Degree, or Child Development Associate Degree (CDA) in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.  All lead teachers attend professional development training annually.

Assistant Teachers

All assistant teachers have earned college credits or have received specialized training in the early education field.  All assistant teachers also attend professional development training annually.

Staff Training

Every Kid's Court teacher and staff member attends an Orientation Program to learn and fully understand the policies and guidelines set forth by Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Keystone Stars Program.

All teachers and staff receive Fire Safety training annually, and renew their Pediatric First Aid certificate, which includes infant through adult CPR, every 3 years.

As a proud participant in Pennsylvania's Keystone Stars program, Kid's Court requires every teacher and staff member to attend professional development training annually.  Our Director works one-on-one with each staff member to identify appropriate training needs, arrange attendance, and then document new learning and skills on the staff member's on-line Professional Development (PD) Registry.

Required Background Clearances

Every Kid's Court teacher and staff member must pass an FBI and State of Pennsylvania criminal and child abuse background check.
